Meet Magda!

MagdaMagda joins the team of Marketing Mud as a new Creative Guru who will assist in the Design department.  Magda moved from Katowice, Poland to Gainesville, Florida in 2007 with a goal to complete a Ph.D degree in Sociology. While taking English classes and mentally preparing to spend the next few years with her nose in the books, she was asked to design a simple flyer and brochure for Sum-Plast, a Polish company.

Magda says, “I think I've always had an eye for making something look good, and that same 'design eye' only needed the right tools to make things happen. My ambitious plan to get a Ph.D in Sociology ended up in the garbage heap.”

Magda has diverse interests, including photography, design and an eye for detail.  The process of learning and passing on new ideas is something that she loves.  She writes, “I consider myself to be a creative person, and it is through creativity that I find my identity and my sense of personal bliss. I have a passion to express myself through every project and to further develop my abilities. When I’m not sitting in a front of computer screen you will find me spending time with my second love — my camera!”

Marketing Mud is proud to announce Magda as a part of our creative team!  Stay tuned for more amazing talent and design, coming soon!

Marketing Mud offers Custom Facebook Landing Pages

With social media growing more and more each day, we believe it is important to stay above the curve on the latest social media trends and technology.  Facebook just reached 500 million users and according to the Social Media Examiner, 22% of all online time is spent on social media sites and 75% of all U.S. households use social networking.  One of the ways we provide our customers with a customized social media experience is by offering custom Facebook landing pages.  What this means is that we can create a mini version of your website using links, videos, forms, and images that guide your Facebook fans to your site and encourage interaction between your business and its customers.  Also, people who are not already a fan of your page will automatically land on your custom page.  Whether you need a mainly text and imaged based landing page, or a complicated landing tab with embedded video or a form for users to fill out and submit, we can help.  The Marketing Mud landing tab is an example of a page that we designed that encourages potential fans to enter our monthly contest.

Marketing Mud sponsors Taste of Home Event

tasteofhome

Sponsoring the Taste of Home event this past weekend was an honor for Marketing Mud.  Marketing Mud’s own designer, April Schroeder and account manager, Tracy Wingate enjoyed the evening with husbands, Matt and Scott as well as customer Kelly Haager of OTO Development and her husband Dieter.  Amazing local food was showcased by various restaurants, one of whom is a Marketing Mud customer, Embers Prime Steaks Wood Grill!  We especially loved the crab bisque and lobster mashed potatoes, Yummmm!  The night was fun-filled with networking, entertainment, friends, food and……….even more food!   Photography 35 was there and took amazing photos of the evening’s events.   Marketing Mud looks forward to contributing to this event again next year!

Marketing Mud publishes 10 Tips to Maximize Social Media in your Business

June 2010 IssueIn October 2009 Marketing Mud decided to join the social media revolution! Being a marketing company, we knew it was important to build our brand on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc, but we didn't have the time to make it happen successfully. We liked social media but without the time and energy for it, we knew we needed help. As Jay Baer said at the Social Media Success Summit 2010, "If you don't LOVE social media, you will SUCK at social media." So, what did we do? We found someone who LOVE's social media and hired her as our Social Media Director. Since then, Farrah Pirkle has helped us increase our following on Twitter and Facebook and has worked with several clients in Gainesville on their Facebook profiles and social media strategies. Specifically, she has worked with two departments at the University of Florida (Non-Profit Management Programs and Geriatric Care Management) and a non-profit organization called Happy Plus Foundation. With help from our web team, she has helped to provide them with custom landing pages and tabs for their Facebook pages and has provided hands-on social media consulting for them.

We are very excited for the potential that social media offers us, and are energetic about providing this multi-faceted service for other small businesses and organizations. We offer everything from one-on-one consulting and large group speaking engagements, to custom Facebook and Twitter backgrounds. For instance, we have spoken at a local American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA) meeting and will be speaking about social media at the monthly Linkedin Women meeting on June 9th. We also offer creative social media management packages for companies who do not have the time to Tweet or Facebook on their own. Recently we published an article in the Gainesville Business Report that highlights 10 tips to maximize social media for your business. We are very excited about all of our success so far with social media and look forward to what is to come. Check out our custom Facebook landing page and let us know how we can help you join the social media revolution with us!
